GEN3SYS®, the new high penetration replaceable insert drilling system from Allied Maxcut will be on show at this year's Tooling Matters conference and show at the Warwick Hilton Hotel on 20th March 2007.
GEN3SYS® uses innovative helical insert geometry to give significantly faster penetration and increased productivity compared to similar products and solid carbide drills. Developed for use with both ferrous and non ferrous materials to provide high metal removal rates, increased hole accuracy and true position, GEN3SYS® also delivers high quality finish within its range of from 12 mm to 22 mm metric or 0.4844" to 0.8594" imperial in 0.0156" increments
Using a unique patented helical geometry with high axial and radial rakes, GEN3SYS® insert profile has also been designed to provide optimum chip forming with elastic materials, such as stainless steels and alloys, without compromising chip control on other materials.
Two substrates, C1/K35 and C2/K20. and four different coating options are available within the system including AMEC's new AM200® PVD coating, which ensures performance, wear and temperature resistance is maintained across a range of materials.
The GEN3SYS® system also includes a range of dedicated straight or helical fluted tool holders, which include through coolant ports to assist with chip removal and provide effective coolant delivery to the cutting edge. To ensure precise registration and absolute repeatability between tip changes, the insert location slots in all GEN3SYS® holders are precision ground, which also increases tool rigidity.
