When it comes to drills and agriculture, it's normally seed drills that are the topic, but when a major tractor manufacturer in Bavaria needed high performance production drills, they chose Allied Maxcut after running a detailed comparative test against other drill companies.
The new contract, estimated to be worth more than €35,000 per annum was won against fierce competition from a range of competitors, including Iscar, but was secured due to the superior hole quality and tool life of Allied Maxcut's GEN2 T-A products.
As the customer's production operation works around the clock, tool life, quality and repeatability are key considerations along with the need to maintain continuous production, which has resulted in the first consignment of GEN2-TA inserts already being ordered by the customer on a consignment basis covered by the AMEC Consignment Stock Agreement.
Further contracts are also available, which would ideally suit AMEC's new GEN3SYS drilling system range and these will be reviewed and placed once the performance of the GEN2-TA has been fully verified in continuous production.
