AMEC has extended its high penetration drilling product range with the addition of the GEN3SYS® XT family of inserts.
The GEN3SYS® XT family consists of four new insert geometries - Standard, Cast Iron (CI), Low Rake (LR) and Stainless Steel (AS), all of which are designed to provide superior chip control, penetration, and tool life in a wide variety of materials. The inserts cover diameters ranging from 11.00 mm to 35.00 mm (.4331" – 1.378") and they can be used with existing GEN3SYS® Holders.
Applications for the geometries are shown below:
- Standard Geometry – General purpose geometry for superior performance in most materials. Designed to increase penetration rates and tool life, providing lowest cost per hole among competitive high penetration drilling lines.
- Cast Iron Geometry (CI) – Designed specifically for increased penetration, durability and tool life in ductile, nodular, and grey cast irons.
- Low Rake Geometry (LR) – Toughest geometry designed for harder steels and less than ideal machining conditions. Ideal choice for structural drilling machines and gantry style machines.
- Stainless Steel Geometry (AS) – Designed to provide unmatched chip control and performance in austenitic & PH stainless steels and high temperature alloys.
