Once again we return from a successful EMO Exhibition organised in collaboration with our colleagues at Allied Machine. EMO returned this year to Hannover after its stay in Milan in 2009. This six-day event, the leading international Trade Fair for the machine tooling industry, featured the latest machinery, solutions and services for every conceivable aspect of metalworking - a veritable tour de force with some 2,037 exhibitors from 41 different nations.
We were allocated an island stand for the first time and our new, much improved stand design was very well received and showed off our tooling to great effect. All in all, 10 staff from Allied Maxcut and 9 colleagues from Allied Machine attended the Stand during the week of the Exhibition from Monday 19th to Saturday 24th September. The origin of the visitor mix from all over the world was as follows:
Europe 78% (of which 52% was from Germany), America 3%, Asia 16%, Africa 1% and Australasia 1%.
Our top 3 country visitors were Germany, Belgium and India. Thursday was our busiest day.

Our main focus was on the new Thread Milling Ranges and GEN3SYS® XT which were being shown at a major European exhibition for the first time, holding prominent positions on our Stands.
Our extended AccuThread and the new MaxThread Programmes have been designed and developed to cover the whole range of thread milling application and to deliver outstanding results, long tool life, high precision and competitive costing per hole, whether using the solid carbide or indexable insert versions. This generated great interest, especially considering the high reliance on tapping on the Continent. We are looking to cover the whole market range whether through our premium AccuThread product produced from micro grain carbide and coated with our new AM210® premium coating for high production thread milling or through our new MaxThread solid carbide range with TiAlN coating as standard for the low volume / low cost manufacturing range, providing outstanding performance at a competitive price.
EMO was also the opportunity to launch our new product GEN3SYS® XT. This has not only the new AM300™ proprietary coating for increased heat resistance and superior tool life at high penetration rates but also a range of new cutting geometries which provide improved chip formation and thereby better penetration rates in a wide range of hard to machine materials such as cast iron, hardened materials and a whole range of steels from structural, cast and forged steels (LR Geometry) to Austenitic Stainless Steel (AS Geometry). These performed particularly well on the Stand Machine and created much interest.
Talking of which, our focal point was a Mori-Seiki NVX5100/40 machine which was arranged through Allied Machine and is part of Mori-Seiki’s flagship line-up of machines launched last September. We are also indebted to Robert Markiewicz of Mori-Seiki (who stayed during the week to operate the machine with our Application Engineer David Morris). The machine generated great interest and enabled us to demonstrate the speed, high performance and finish quality of our standard tooling, and also the productivity and performance of our innovative new ranges. Customers were very impressed with the results.
Many thanks go to the Team of Allied Maxcut and Allied Machine as pictured below for all the hard work put in to make the week at EMO 2011 Hannover the success it proved to be.

We look forward to our next major Exhibitions:
