Allied Maxcut's class leading high performance drilling system for structural steel now incorporates the company's latest innovative GEN3SYS® range which further extends the range's performance and tool life for structural steel and thin plate drilling applications.
With the addition of GEN3SYS® to the range, which also includes the company's T-A® holders and GEN2-TA™ inserts together with special TW (ThinWall) and 150O replaceable inserts, the AMEC structural steel range delivers fast drilling and excellent tool life in all grades of steel used in structural and construction applications, such as RSJ's and 'I' section beams.
With a drill size range from 12mm to 39mm diameter, the range uses dedicated body diameter holders, which maximises rigidity and minimises drill deflection to maintain positional accuracy, hole shape and diameter tolerances. Both the GEN3SYS® and T-A holders feature integral coolant ports to ensure coolant is delivered to the drill insert effectively.
The special TW geometry insert is designed to provide maximum performance when drilling materials up to 6mm thick, whilst the150O shallow angle insert geometry delivers high wear resistance and chip forming as well as a reduced exist burr on materials over 6mm thick. Both
Inserts use a Super Cobalt substrate and TiAlN coating for high productivity, long tool life and heat resistance, making them ideally suited to minimal coolant applications.
Both GEN2-TA™ and GEN3SYS® inserts use AMEC's PVD – AM200™ coating to further increase tool life, penetration and chip formation.
All T-A holders are standard taper shank designs and are available with straight or helical flutes, while the GEN3SYS® holders are helical fluted and incorporate a flanged metric shank with flat.
